I am a youthful retired teacher with over 40 years of successful classroom experience. My educational philosophy is that learning is fun, or should be. My experience includes Middle School, High School, and College. My specialty is education in the classics: Latin, Classical and Biblical Greek, and the history and literature of the period. Another subject I enjoy tutoring is math, most levels through Algebra 2. If you need assistance preparing for SAT and ACT English, Math, or subject te...
Mary has been fantastic in preparing my high schooler for Latin 1 and 2. We couldn't have done it without her. We will miss working with Mary and appreciate all she has done!
- Cheryl G. from Shapleigh, ME
She helped my daughter get comfortable with Her Latin work. She was patient and guided her through her assignments. My daughter has more confidence with Latin and her assignments.
- Patricia H. from Derry, NH
Mary is, hands down, the best teacher I've had. She has been teaching me Latin for a few months now, and I hope to continue learning with her for a long time. Since I'm studying Latin out of a general interest, I wholeheartedly welcome any extra bits of historical or literary information that Mary has to offer. Above all, she keeps the lessons very engaging by picking interesting piece of Latin literatures to read. Thanks a lot Mary!
- Dhruv S. from Sunnyvale, CA
I?m learning Homeric Greek with Mary. We are both having a lot of fun doing it. I?m pleasantly surprised how enjoyable the experience is, and how accessible she is making it for me. I definitely could not do this (reading the Iliad) on my own, and she is invaluable in unlocking the secrets. I started this on a lark, and now it is my quest. Delighted to have Mary show me the way.
- Steven C. from San Carlos, CA
Mary is a patient and excellent tutor for my high school son who was struggling with Latin. He has AdHD and has made much faster progress in his online Latin course with Mary?s tutoring.

Mary is patient and helps our son progress in Latin! She is firm and patient and funny! She keeps track of what he needs to work on and helps him get there! She has time for us and is affordable and that really matters in times like these!
- Suzannah K. from New York, NY
Mary went over diagramming sentences with my daughter. She was very patient and knowledgeable teacher. My daughter enjoyed the lesson very much and found it to be very helpful.
- Pavel G. from Wynnewood, PA
Mary did fantastic! She went over grammatical structures with me from what I already identified. She explained what I did right, wrong, and explained why when I asked questions. Phenomenal tutor!
- Jordan F. from Shelby, NC
She is very helpful and friendly with my son?s Latin course. My son really enjoys her lessons, she is very knowledgeable
- Dila K. from Wexford, PA
Mary has patiently helped me make my way through portion's of Ovid's Metamorphoses in a fun manner that really brings the stories alive. I also happily let her lead me down a variety of tangents (meanings of names, foundations for words in English, etc.) which enrich my knowledge of Latin as well as English.
- Andrew D. from New York, NY
Useful lesson and an enjoyable one. We were able to cover all my questions successfully. Mary is knowledgeable and has great resources. I find Mary is extremely helpful in achieving my goals.
- Hank B. from New York, NY
We had two lessons with Mary. She was almost 10 minutes late for her first lesson. We let it go. The lesson went well. So we scheduled a second lesson. She was late again. She also came unprepared and not knowing what to do. It took her another 5 minutes to retrieve the photos of the text which I sent over several days ago. Another 5 minutes to find out what has not been reviewed. I asked her to compensate for the lost time and she abruptly left the lesson. She later sent me a message claiming that we were not a good fit. If you can tolerate her wasting 15 minutes of each lesson time to get herself ready, she is a teacher for you. Otherwise, you should look elsewhere.
- Wanny Y. from Los Gatos, CA
Mary was a great instructor and paced the lesson well. I completed the session with a lot of new knowledge without feeling uncomfortable with the amount of new information. She was also very friendly and clearly qualified in her teaching.
- Max V. from San Jose, CA
I can identify and pronounce my alphabets and read. This is very good. I can work on my assignment now with minimal helps. Further, I can participate in class conversations. Thanks Ms Mary
- Enitan K. from Raleigh, NC
Mary knew every there is to know about Latin. I could not believe the depth of her knowledge. She helped me prepare for my Latin test and I am now positive I will receive a 100 on my test.
- Niki E. from Stamford, CT
Mary is extremely knowledgeable, but she is equally pleasant. I probably shouldn't have to type how rare is the combination of these two qualities, although nonetheless I have. Sure, the relationship of the pedagogy is changed in this type of situation-if I dislike her method or mood, I can find someone else fairly easily. But my opinion is still that Mary is a genuinely smart and courteous person, at the very least in a professional situation such as this.
- Benjamin D. from Lansing, MI
My son learned what he was looking for! We will take another lesson when needed so thanks for your help!
- Vishal C. from Melrose, MA
Very awesome. Teaches at the speed that best works for you. Mary is a bank that has a wealth of knowledge. Things you only learn with time and experience. Glad to have her as a teacher.
- Adanes B. from Overland Park, KS
In-depth knowledge (insight) of the subject in relation to the Bible...I'm very thankful for everything she has done to help me understand the can be challenging learning a new language.
