Ilona is working with my daughter on writing and math, she really knows how to get the best out of her. I?m looking forward to more lessons. I have noticed that the kid is really learning and enjoy the lessons. Ilona is very knowledgeable.

Let me set the stage for you. My son has a learning disability -- bad one. Add to the fact that I could not find an in-person violin teacher, I was hesitant to look for one online. He lacks focus and while he tries hard he feels like a failure even at the wee age of 9. To make matters worse I chose the violin for him so that he can learn an instrument that would make him feel unique. I interviewed many teachers - many! I even tried one with no success. Then I figured to give Ilona a try. Remember, my child has never touched a violin before and in just his first lesson he learned how to hold the violin, the names of the strings, learned the quarter and half notes, learned the basics of how to hold the bow, and the parts that make up the violin. You are going to think I am a liar, but right after that, this kid picks up the bow and plays for me (albeit in a very squeeky, horrid way) the Starwars theme song and twinkle twinkle little star all by ear and it only sounded bad because he has no idea how to glide the bow or operate his fingers on the fingerboard. Here's the point. If my son with a learning disability at the age of 9 can learn, so can yours and as the saying goes, its not what you know, its who you know. BEFORE YOU GIVE any others a try, you need to give Ilona a chance with you or your child. BUT be prepared. This is a nonsense woman either! Her ways seem tough, but she is all heart and thats because i can tell she loves what she does, she loves her art and I know she sees what I cannot yet see and that is what my son can become. I am looking forward for years of continued training with her! Like I said, before you choose someone else, give her the chance to work with you for at least 3 lessons and if you are not blown away by her experience, then move on... you WON'T regret it!

I have been learning to play Violin from Ilona. This is my first time learning any instrument so I was a bit unsure about it but Ilona is a really good and patient teacher and that has helped me a lot. Ilona helps me correct my hand positions, posture while practicing and doesn't lose her patience even after my repeated mistakes. Ilona makes sure I get sufficient practice and in right way. She provides me with extra material to enhance my learning(Even music theory). I am more than happy and in fact surprised by my progress in Violin, all thanks to Ilona. :)

She is teaching violin to my 11 year old daughter. From the beginning she was straightforward with her availability and replied to all my inquiries promptly. She guided us on what and where to get the supplies we needed for the class. She is very pleasant to treat on the phone and in person. She seems very dedicated to what she does and kept my daughters attention nicely. As I said, we were really lucky to meet her!

My violin lessons with Ilona have been very positive so far . I like the style of teaching due to the amounts of books that we use on every sessions which makes learning the instrument a lot easier , and her insistence on me to learn the music that we practice ,so that the coordination with my mind ,hand and finger placements are stronger . She has been patient with me on most of my lessons which I do appreciate. This week I am going to learn the G-string on the violin and I am excited for it.
- Jean P. from Pompano Beach, FL

Ilona has been working with my daughter in 3rd grade. My daughter came here from Russia 1.5 years ago and started in 2nd grade. She has struggled with the ESOL program in public schools and had no progress whatsoever in 1 year of schooling. Illona began working with her about 5 months ago - she is now conversing easily in English and Illona has brought her level up to nearly second grade in reading and writing. Great progress - my wife and I are extremely pleased. Illona has also started to work with our daughter to get her caught up on school work from the public school that the teachers were unable to get through. She has a great approach and very patient as my daughter isn't easy to work with. Highly recommend her!
- John G. from Pompano Beach, FL
Ilona was great. She was patient and great at correcting bad habits from prior teacher. Very knowledgeable. She recommended books so my child is also learning the basics of music not just how to make sound with the violin.
- Khalilah P. from Pompano Beach, FL
Was absolutely amazing! I had so much fun learning with Llona. She really tries to help students understand patterns and she focuses a lot on how things connect and the bigger picture. Her teaching style really taught me to appreciate math in a new way. I'm excited to learn more. Study with her!

Ms. Ilona taught me ways to remember the definition of words by putting them in sentences. She was very helpful and generous in giving me time to think about my responses and explained any mistakes. She was very patient and helpful throughout the whole lesson, and overall I thought that we had a great lesson,

Having Mrs.Ilona as a violin tutor the first couple of sessions has been absolutely incredible. She had taught me the beginning concepts of this musical instrument and is continuing to help me grow as a violinist. I have learned the basic theory of music, tuning the violin, and I know there are countless amount of things for me to still learn. Tuning the violin can be extremely difficult as first for a beginner without visiting a local music store, however Mrs.IIona had gone through the tuning process carefully step by step to produce the right sound from each string. Mrs.IIona has great enthusiasm towards her learners and passion for the violin itself.

I have known Ilona for many years. She was my first violin instructor. I started out as an adult learner shortly after having my first child. At the time she came to my home. She was and is very patient and accommodating. She is everything I hoped for and expected in a teacher. She is very thorough in her teaching style and goes above and beyond by really trying to develop in her students a love for music. She strongly encourages students to step outside their comfort zone and play at recitals or out in public if possible. It is easy to see her love of knowledge as well as her passion for passing that knowledge on to her students. I no longer live close to Ilona and I'm so happy to be able to have lessons from her again via wyzant!

Ilona has been a savior to our homeschooled 13-year-old son! He has difficulty in reading, writing and staying focused and on task. But, ever since she began working with him he has improved tremendously! After her initial evaluation, she made recommendations on books we could purchase and even provided some of her own. She then created a curriculum that allowed him to focus on the material he had fallen behind on then gradually added material for his grade level. Our son has been able to accomplish so much and will finally be at grade level by school year's end. We are so happy and blessed to have found Ilona - she is an integral part of our sons life!
- Eileen G. from Boca Raton, FL
This tutor went out of her way to make sure my son was signed up for the correct class... she noticed a problem and took all the steps to get it corrected including facilitating a class change. She is patient and very detail oriented... she went way above and beyond my expectations and I would highly recommend her !!!!!!
- Shelley L. from Boca Raton, FL
My daughter was very happy with the lesson. Even prior to the lesson Ilona had reached out to us to discuss my daughter's SAT struggles and recommended study materials to bring to the lesson. My daughter felt very comfortable with her. We will be scheduling another lesson.
