Let it go: 7 Resolutions for 2016

By Meredith Tombs on January 12, 2016

Welcome to 2016! If you’re serious about making some changes to your life, take a second to prioritize.
Actually, take more than a second. You deserve to put some thought into this prioritization. Figure out who and what you want to stay in your life this year, and, more importantly, which people and things deserve to be there.
Are you ready to ‘Let It Go’? If you’re willing to take Elsa’s (and my) advice, here are 7 things to remove from your life for the new year:

1. Clutter
Recycle those piles of magazines covering every surface. Donate the clothes you haven’t worn in months (or years). Toss the box of odds and ends that Pintrest swore had promise but you know will never actually get used. Take a morning or afternoon to tackle one project at a time, and before the week’s end, your living space (and you) will feel brand new!

2. Stress
Try focusing on the positive elements of your life. Starting each day off in this manner will help you approach your daily tasks in a more efficient manner. Remember that everyone faces struggles. There are always ways to deal with life’s difficulties, and there are always people who will help you do so. 3. Grudges
Forgive ‘em. Call up those family members or ex-friends and hash it out, then move on with these important people in your life.

4. Drama
Forget ‘em: Move on from the faux pas that are just unforgivable or those too irrelevant to bring up again. You don’t need that baggage.

5. Bad habits
Choose one habit you want to break. Focus on one poor tendency at a time, rather than spreading your energies too thinly by trying to give up 18 [billion] things at once. It may take a while, but putting your mind to something and accomplishing a goal is an extremely rewarding practice. Here are 8 common habits and some positive replacements for some inspiration! http://www.neamb.com/insurance/beat-these-8-common-bad-habits.htm

6. That one person you know you’d be better off without
Whether it’s someone you used to call a friend, or a contributor to a toxic relationship – rip off the band-aid. Surround yourself, instead, with individuals who positively impact others. Embrace your new freedom. Go see that new Rebel Wilson movie (#HowToBeSingle). Focus on what you need to do in order to flourish and succeed, rather than being degraded by someone else.

7. Your reliance on others for your own self worth
Pretty self explanatory.

There you have it. #NewYearNewMe.
